Homemade hummus is probably the easiest and cheapest thing to make and super healthy. Hummus is awesome for a mid-day snack with carrots or cucumber or as a side dish before dinner with some sliced wholewheat bread. You can make loads of variations but this one is the plain simple one.
What you need:
- 1 can of chickpeas
- Tblspn of EVOO
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
- pepper & Salt
- Tahini (if you like)
Some people like to take the skin of the chickpeas but we were just a bit lazy today and if you have a good mixer it will not be a problem at all.
Throw the chickpeas in your bowl and add 1/2 or 1 clove of garlic. Add a bit of salt and pepper, the cumin & EVOO (and tahini if you like the taste of that). Then mix it until it gets all smooth and off you go.
We took half of the “natural” hummus and added some cilantro to it. An absolute treat.
