Today we started driving south. Heading to Portugal. And we drove to Santa Tegra, the last mountain marking the border between Spain and Portugal. Overseeing the Miño river, the Atlantic Ocean and Portugal. Fresh air, the wind blowing our faces and a strong smell resambling nature and purity.
We felt on the top of the world! While looking at the horizon we had an epiphany: “What if there were no borders, no customs to pass. And we were all free to go wherever we want to?”
As wanderers we face borders very often. And it frequently makes us think. Eventhough we understand the economical and political reasons, as well as the potential social arguments. We get a bit of a sour feeling and feel confronted knowing this is a reality we are living… We would like the world to be “fear free”, “borders free”.
Even though we are different, look different and live in different cultures and countries today this scenery by the ocean reminds us about one of our pillars: We are one!
