Driving through the rice fields on the remote gravel roads on our way to surf Balangan suddenly made us smile. The thought that we are really here, we did it, just really did it, that’s what made us instantly bone-chilling happy. And we know that happiness is not a constant. It can pop up in a second, disappear in an instant and surprise you when you least expect it. And that’s what happened during our scooter-ride: Being and feeling liberated and wandering, that’s what made us happy.
It is a scary adventure, the fact that we let go of all security. No steady income, away from friends and family, new people, new surroundings, but in the end it is all worth it. It does not feel like a risk, it feels completely natural. To just wander and follow the path of our dreams wherever it brings us. So we will continue to wander, to look inside and follow the journey we have only just yet started. Our advice for you would be to do the same, to let go of the fears that hold you back and dare to wander.
